The Carterville Lions opened SIRR Conference - Ohio Divisioin play with a big win over the Herrin Tigers back on December 8th. Since then, the Lions have dropped three games in a row.


Carterville enters tonights home game against the Harrisburg Bulldogs with a 4-4 record on the season. The Bulldogs enter the game 6-3.


Both teams enter tonights game with one conference win a piece. Harrisburg defeated Massac County back on December 15th, 64-51.

The Carterville Lions hit the road once again tonight as they take their 4-2 record to face the 7-1 Goreville Blackcats in non-conference action.


The Lions are coming off a 57-44 loss this past Tuesday night to the Pinckneyville Panthers.


Coach Todd Tripp and the Blackcats have won seven of eight this year with their only loss coming at the hands of the Benton Rangers 58-51.

On Wednesday, the Eldorado Holiday Tournament held their seeding selection meeting and the Carterville Lions were selected as the number one seed for the tourney. They will open play on December 26th at 8:30 AM when they face Carrier Mills.

The Lions will be at home coming up Saturday evening as they host the Nashville Hornets. Game time is set for 7:45 pm.

Fresh off their first conference win over the Herrin Tigers last Friday, 48-44, Coach Shane Hawkins and the Linos face a tough week on the hardwood.


Things get started tomorrow night (Tuesday) as the Lions head to Pinckneyville to face the Panthers and new head coach Matt Laur.


The Panthers are coming off their first loss of the season as they lost to Mater Dei 59-55 last Saturday night. Pinckneyville is 6-1 on the season while the Lions enter 4-1.


The Lions will be on the Friday night as well as they head to Goreville to face the Blackcats who are 6-1 as of this writing. Carterville will be back home on Saturday night when they host the Nashville Hornets (4-3).
