One year ago, the John A Logan men's basketball team began the season 2-2 through the first four games. They then began a run of winning the next 31 games straight taking them all the way to their first NJCAA D1 national championship in Hutcheson Kansas.

This Friday night the Vols open their 2023 season when they face Mineral Area College at Three Rivers College.

Mike Murphy and I kicked off the first "Talking Vols" show of the season on 1035 ESPN and we had the opportunity to catch up with Vols Head Coach Tyler Smithpeters.

You can hear the season opener coming up this Friday at 4:45 pm on 103.5 ESPN.

Every year as the football season starts, CoachBrett Diel and I have the same conversion..."Once the games start, the season goes by in a flash".

That is so true. The season ends just as abruptly.

The Lions season came to a sudden end this past Saturday as the Harrisburg Bulldogs came to Lions Field for the second time this year and hung a L on the Lions record.

Harrisburg gave Carterville it's first loss of the season back on September 29 winning 29-28.

In the first round. of the playoffs this weekend, the Bulldogs scored all 23 of their points in a four minute span in the second quarter in a 23-12 victory to close our the Lions season.

Here are the game highlights from Saturday's game.
