The Carterville Lions picked up another impressive win tonight over the Herrin Tigers 71-61. That is the first conference win of the season for the Lions, who improve to 6-0 on the season.

This game went back and forth through the first three quarters. The Lions pull away late outscoring Herrin 13-8 in the final 5:20 of the game.

The Lions were paced once again by Colton Hawkins, who finished with a game high 24. Maddox Gulley had 14, Harper Lustenberger 13 and Max Lustenberger finished with 10.

The Lions will be back in action at 10 AM on Saturday morning when they face Waltonville at the Get Down Showcase in Carbondale. Matt Varney and John Homan will have the call on NewsRadio WJPF (1340AM/99.5FM and online at wjpf.com. We WILL NOT be a livestream for that game.

Speaking of livestreams, due to equipment issues, we were not able to livestream the Herrin game. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
