The Carterville Lions are back home tonight, and that alone makes this one feel different. Carterville will host the Carbondale Terriers with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. It’s only the third home game of the season for the Lions, which tells you just how road-tested this group already is.

Carterville enters the night playing confident basketball. Through 18 games, the Lions average 63.8 points per game and own a +12.3 scoring margin. That’s not built on hot shooting alone. It’s built on efficiency, defense, and winning possessions.

Offensively, the Lions do their best work inside. Carterville is shooting 48.2% overall and an impressive 58.5% on two-point attempts. They don’t force the three, but they’ll make you pay if you sag off. It’s a disciplined attack that values good shots over quick ones.

Defensively, this team travels — and now it comes home. The Lions force turnovers at a strong rate and rebound well on both ends of the floor. They tend to jump on teams early and stay steady late, a big reason why close games haven’t stayed close for long.

Tonight is a chance for Carterville to reward the home crowd and continue building momentum. Limited home dates make every one count. When the Lions take the floor at 7:30, expect energy early, pressure all night, and another solid test as the season rolls on.

Coverage of tonight’s matchup will be on NewsRadio WJPF, with Dave McKenzie and John Homan on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 7:30 p.m., bringing you all the buildup, storylines, and live play-by-play as the Carterville Lions host the Carbondale Terriers. If you can’t be in the gym, WJPF is the front-row seat.
