The Carterville Lions finally return to action tonight as they hit the road to face the Carbondale Terriers.
The Lions last played back on January 4th, when the lost to the DuQuoin Indians 51-42. Just like the weather outside, the Lions suffered a cold shooting night going 16-52 from the field for thirty percent. Plus, the Lions were without one of the leading scorers as Kaden Wilson was out due to illness.
That loss continued a trend for Coach Shane Hawkins and the Lions. The Lions opened the season at the Trico Tourney going 1-1. Since then the Lions have won three, lost three, won three and lost three. In keeping with that trend, the Lions should pick up a win tonight, however, we all no it's never that easy.
Carbondale is coming off a OT loss to Breese Mater Dei last Saturday night 54-51 in overtime. This was one of the only local boys games that were able to be played last week due to the weather.
John Homan and I will have the call for you this evening starting at 7:15 PM on NewsRadio WJPF (AM1340/99.5FM & wjpf.com) and on our YouTube livestream. Hope you will joining us there.
Roar Lions Roar!
