Carterville Lions at Pinckneyville Panthers - Week 8

The Carterville Lions will play their final SIRR Conference game of the season tonight when they travel to Pinckneyville to face the Panthers.

The Lions enter the game with a 5-2 record after their 54-32 win over Madison last week. With five wins under their belt, the Lions are now eligible for the ISHA playoffs.

While the Lions and Panthers battle it out in Pinckneyville, keep in mind there is another important football game that has an impact on the Lions. Just twelve miles away in Du Quoin, the Indians will host the Nashville Hornets in their final conference game of the year.

Lions fans should be Indian fans tonight. If Du Quoin can knock off the Hornets, there would be a three way tie for the conference title, with Carterville, Nashville and Du Quoin having a conference record of 3-1.

I had a chance to talk to Coach Brett Diel about tonight's matchup on the road.

You can hear tonight's game on NewsRadio WJPF (99.5 FM/AM 1340) starting with the pregame show. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

We hope to see you at the game tonight, but if you can't make it, you can watch our YouTube Livestream along with the radio call from me and Scott. Here is the link:

Finally, on a personal note. I just want to say thank you to those that reached out to me in the last couple of weeks after the passing of my mom. She was an incredible woman! From the bottom of my heart..."thank you"!
