The Carterville Lions have struggled from time to time this season, playing .500 ball most of the season. However in SIRR Conference play, the Lions have played some of their best games of the season entering Friday's road game at Massac Co with a 4-2 record in Ohio division play.


Massac County entered Fridays game with a 4-3 conference mark and 19-7 this season and were coming off a blowout win on the road at Herrin Tuesday night 68-46.


Back on January 5th, the Patriots came to Carterville and gave the Lions one of their two conference losses 55-48, setting up last night's rematch.

The Lions will face Murphysboro on Thursday night for the chance to win the conference title outright on the final night of the regular season. It will Senior Night for the Carterville Lions.

The Carterville Lions hit the road for a key SIRR Conference battle tonight when they face the Patriots.


The Lions enter the game with a 4-2 record in the conference while the Patriots come in 4-3. With a win, the Lions would clinch a share of the Ohio division title with one conference game left next Thursday against Murphysboro.


Massac County picked up a win in the first matchup between these two teams back on January 5th, 56-48.

Carterville looks to extend their three game winning streak Tuesday night as they head to Harrisburg to face the Bulldogs.


These two team have met twice already this season.


The Lions won their previous conference matchup against the Bulldogs back on December 19th in Carterville when the Lions won 57-40.


Harrisburg picked up a 12 point win over Carterville in the 2023 Eldorado Holiday Tourney 52-44.


The Lions are in second place in the SIRR Conference - Ohio Division with a 3-2 record. The Bulldogs enter the game 1-4 in conference play.
